Overview

Tax Relief Help (“we,” “our,” “us”) operates the website taxreliefhelp.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have.

We do not sell personal information. Inquiries you submit are stored in our own database and are not automatically sent to lead buyers, lead aggregators, data brokers, or tax-relief companies.

Information You Do Not Need to Provide

All educational content, guides, glossary entries, and reference materials on this site are freely accessible without creating an account or submitting personal information.

Tax Help Requests

If you submit a tax help request, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, email address, phone number, state, whether you are an individual or business, an approximate amount owed, how urgent your situation is, and any description you choose to provide. We also record the page you submitted from, how you arrived at the site (such as a referring page or campaign link), the date and time, your IP address, and the exact consent wording and privacy policy version shown to you, along with the contact choices you selected.

Please do not include Social Security numbers, IRS account logins, or copies of tax records in the form. We do not request them.

Calculator Data

Our calculators (OIC Eligibility, CSED Clock, Expense Standards Lookup) run in your browser. The figures you enter into a calculator are not sent to our servers, stored in our database, or shared with anyone. They are discarded when you leave or close the page.

Chat Assistant

If you use the on-site chat assistant, the messages in your conversation are sent to an AI model provider through Vercel's AI Gateway so a response can be generated. We do not store chat conversations in our database. Do not enter sensitive personal or financial details into the chat.

Usage Data

We measure how the site is used, including pages viewed, referring pages, campaign parameters, browser and device type, and approximate region. Our own measurement assigns a random identifier stored in your browser so repeat visits can be counted; it does not contain your name or contact details. We also use Vercel Analytics, and we load Google's advertising tag to measure the effectiveness of our ads. Google is told about a conversion only when you submit a tax help request or choose to continue from a calculator to an outside service; simply viewing pages is not reported as a conversion. The conversion report includes a random request identifier, not your name or contact details. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we do not report conversions to Google and we deny advertising storage.

Who Processes Your Information

We use service providers that run this website on our behalf. They process information only to provide their services to us:

Vercel: Website hosting, analytics, and the AI Gateway used by the chat assistant
Neon: The database where tax help requests and consent records are stored
Upstash: Temporary data used for rate limiting, security, and aggregate site measurement
AI model provider (via Vercel AI Gateway): Generates chat assistant responses
Google: Advertising measurement through the Google tag

Referrals and Sharing

We do not currently send tax help requests to independent tax-relief companies, lead buyers, or other businesses. If we offer referrals in the future, we will describe the recipient and the purpose at the point of collection and will share your information only with the permission you give at that time. A change to this policy alone will not authorize sharing information you submitted earlier.

We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the site.

Cookies and Browser Storage

Data Retention

We keep tax help requests for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law. Records of the consent you gave may be kept for as long as needed to demonstrate how your information was handled.

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the information you submitted, or to stop contacting you, by emailing the address below. You can withdraw consent to calls or text messages at any time.

AI and Machine-Readable Access

We publish llms.txt and llms-full.txt files at taxreliefhelp.com/llms.txt to provide AI systems with a structured summary of our public content. These files contain no user data, analytics, or personal information.

Data Security

This site is served over HTTPS. Tax help requests are stored in an access-restricted database, and administrative access requires authentication. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information you provide.

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
