2026 UPDATE · We are reviewing guidance against current IRS publications, forms, and collection standards.

Commercial standards

Recommendations, relationships, and offers must remain distinguishable.

ReliefGeek is building the governance needed for future card, banking, loan, and other financial-product content before those offers appear.

Editorial ratings stand on their own

A product or provider will not receive a higher editorial score because it pays ReliefGeek or participates in a referral relationship.

Partner status is shown separately

Users should be able to distinguish editorial inclusion from commercial availability and understand when compensation may occur.

Terms need a source and date

Rates, fees, requirements, limitations, geography, and expiration data must include a source and last-verified date.

Methodology belongs near the recommendation

Every ranked category needs published criteria, scoring inputs, important exclusions, and a review process.

Offers never outrank urgent tax guidance

A time-sensitive notice, levy, filing obligation, or unaffordable agreement must be addressed before a financial product is presented as a next step.

Alternatives are part of the comparison

Educational, nonprofit, government, and no-product alternatives should appear when they could reasonably be safer or less expensive.

No consumer financial product marketplace is active on ReliefGeek today. These standards define the separation required before launch. See also research methodology and corrections policy.
